Carlos Jimenez could not purchase kilts from his preferred brand during the pandemic. He decided to start making his own, quickly catching the attention of friends who wanted to buy them. Encouraged by the interest, Carlos officially launched his brand, Kilt Plus, in 2021 as an online business selling kilts and accessories.
Carlos lacked formal business training, so he applied for the Business Accelerator to gain structure and discipline in running his growing business. The program helped him stay focused as he prepared to open his store.
He liked connecting with the cohort, who shared similar challenges and supported each other. His mentors’ support and guidance helped him expand his business ambitions. “They really motivated me to keep going and look at everything from the big picture, ”recalls Carlos.
His ambition is paying off! In the summer of 2024, Carlos opened his first brick-and-mortar store in Provincetown, and Kilt Plus is already profitable. Carlos is confident that he’ll soon be able to focus on it full-time. He recommends EforAll to any entrepreneur, saying, “I’m always talking about EforAll. I have friends who applied for the program after seeing the difference in my business after doing it.”
