Koshari Mama serves vegan Egyptian street food with a twist. Founded by Sahar Ahmed and Dina Fahim, mother and daughter whose family have always gathered around food, they wanted to share their family traditions and delicious vegan dishes inspired by their homeland.

They first heard about EforAll at a farmer’s market in Lowell and decided to apply for the Summer 2018 Accelerator. “We thought that this was an excellent opportunity to learn about entrepreneurship and how to get our business started on the right track. We knew how to cook, but we didn’t know about running a business. What we learned at EforAll was invaluable.”

According to Dina, the three mentors they were paired with as part of the Accelerator were a game-changer and have been a strong support system during their entrepreneurship journey. “As a young company, it is scary to dive into a business. Our mentors were available for any questions and were always there for reality checks.”

Pre-pandemic, Koshari Mama was a popular destination in 15 farmers’ markets in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. But COVID-19 hasn’t slowed this duo down, as in the summer of 2021, they are on track to open their first independent brick-and-mortar location in Somerville, MA!  “Because of EforAll, our business got the solid foundation it needed to succeed,” says Dina.
