POSITION: Senior Software Engineer (Full-Stack)

REPORTS TO: Chief Technology Officer


As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work with a small, passionate team that is leveraging leading-edge technologies. You will help build and maintain modern web applications that enable EforAll to expand and deliver on the mission. Under the direction of the CTO, you will also work with the Director of Programs and other stakeholders to ensure software requirements are correctly interpreted and implemented.  You will provide support to team members that build software, and to the program staff that uses it.


  • Perform coding, debugging, testing and troubleshooting throughout the development process
  • Build and maintain feature modules for our in-house Angular application using Angular 9.x, Firebase, Node.js, Cloud SQL, and Google Cloud services
  • Independently, but with guidance from the CTO, translate requirements from internal stakeholders into working feature modules
  • Collaborate with the Director of Programs and EforAll staff to ensure software requirements are correctly interpreted and implemented.  Provide feedback and ideas that might influence how technology can achieve optimal results
  • Lead and contribute to peer code reviews, influencing and supporting junior software engineers
  • Provide technical support to EforAll staff, triage and track software defects, raise issues with the team, scope the effort to resolve defects, and propose prioritization


  • Firebase experience highly desired, including Auth and Cloud Functions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Extensive knowledge of software systems and programming languages
  • Proficient with software engineering tools and applications
  • A professional and resourceful style; the ability to work independently and as a team player, to take initiative, and to manage under deadlines


  • 3+ years of experience developing software with Angular 2+ and Node.js
  • 3+ years of experience with a cloud platform such as AWS or Google Cloud (preferably Google)
  • Expertise with MySQL. Google Cloud SQL query plan analysis experience is desired
  • Expertise with asynchronous development using observables and promises
  • Expertise with modern web rendering including FlexBox and CSS Grid
  • Experience building and maintaining software projects using NPM, Webpack, Grunt/Gulp, and Git in a team environment. Branching, merging and rebasing should be familiar concepts
  • Requires strong design, data modeling, and application development experience
  • Must be an energetic self-starter, driven to learn and enhance her or his skills, and to share and apply that knowledge in a team environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems or equivalent

Regular work hours are Monday through Friday in our Lowell Office. Occasional remote support of staff in other sites will be expected as they run events and use our technology during weekday evenings.
