Nonprofit Drives Self-Expression and Empowerment
Several years ago, Isiah Tucker became frustrated with the lack of creative mental health services for the teens he was working with. He reached out to a friend, and together, they founded Inner Voice Outer Change For Youth (IVOC). IVOC offers therapeutic services that utilize music and multimedia projects to encourage self-expression and empowerment for marginalized teens.
With no business background, Isiah applied for the Summer 2022 Business Accelerator in Greater Worcester, looking for help setting up and developing his organization. “I had questions about the 501c3 application process, and I also wanted to create a business plan,” recalls Isiah.
The cohort and the mentorship were the best aspects of the program for him. His mentors were always available and provided valuable information and knowledge to help him make crucial decisions for his business.
IVOC is now in the final stages of obtaining its 501c3 status and expanded its services by securing five new contracts. Isiah would recommend EforAll to anyone with a business idea, saying, “The Business Accelerator allowed me to connect, build, and grow personally and professionally as an entrepreneur.”
