What grew out of frustration with this statistic, evolved into Nohmii, an American women’s outdoor clothing company helmed by EforAll alum Linda Shottes-Bouchard. Linda’s vision began back in 2014. “I met with a local seamstress and shared some drawings I had and possible fabrics I was thinking of using. I was also able to work with Claudia Design, a Minnesota-based company that helped take me through the original concepts of the skirt.”
The idea for Nohmii’s premiere item, the Outskert, came from Linda’s experiences as a ski mom, “Every time I hiked up the mountain with a pair of ski pants I would get overheated, and then stand the rest of day being cold in my ski pants. I needed to build something that I could easily zip on and off.” The Outskert is her original piece that utilizes Polartec, a breathable, waterproof fabric, along with other lightweight pieces, to keep a woman warm without the bulk of heavy fabrics.
