“There was times I wanted delivery, but there was no delivery options other than pizza” said Ryan Caton. Ryan is the Co-Founder of GotChew, an online food ordering and delivery service for restaurants in the area that currently don’t offer delivery. Primarily serving the city of New Bedford, Got Chew also serves Fair Haven, Dartmouth, and surrounding cities and towns. Got Chew is simple; customers place their food orders through the app or website, and GotChew does the rest, picking up the food from the restaurant and delivering it to the customer. “The type of food we deliver ranges from Chinese food to American cuisine…seafood, we also do breakfast delivery as well.”
Ryan was inspired by what would soon becomes his competition. After seeing similar businesses in the area, he fell in love with the idea and wanted to start a business of his very own. His high school friends from the whaling city, Will Gilmour and Justin Baker, were the first people he called on to help execute his idea, saying: “the three of us and our skill sets all make it work”. Will Gilmour ran marketing and Justin Baker served on the tech-side, developing three apps (one for customers, one for restaurants, and one for drivers).
