Miguel Rivera first heard about EforAll when he went to the Greater Holyoke Chamber of Commerce in late 2018 to find a way to get more involved with helping other entrepreneurs in the local community. The Chamber introduced him to Spark/EforAll and soon, Miguel was mentoring a family starting an auto repair and sales business. He liked his EforAll Mentor experience so much that he mentored again during the Summer 2018 Business Accelerator in Holyoke,
What is Your Favorite Thing About Being an EforAll Mentor?
My favorite part is to have the chance to give back to my community. I believe that with my past job experiences, academic preparation and my current experience as an entrepreneur I can share ideas for new entrepreneurs to consider.
Miguel goes on to say “I also love to be able to see the growth of these entrepreneurs during the accelerator. It makes me very happy to see how these entrepreneurs come to the mentor matching with only a business idea and then in the final presentations they can show their dream materialized.
What is your advice to an Entrepreneur?
Read a lot of business books, do not settle for being just average, pivot if you have to and to be a walking billboard.
What Makes EforAll Special To You?
The opportunity EforAll provides is something that has to be shared with other people with business ideas that do not know how to start. Tessa (Holyoke Executive Director) and Jayne (Holyoke Program Manager) are awesome leaders and have created an environment of camaraderie, support and encouragement.
