Maine, the northeasternmost U.S. state, has an economy and culture tied to its heritage industries – Forest Products, Life Sciences, Marine/Aquaculture, Food/Agriculture, and Outdoor Recreation.   Today, 99.2% of businesses in Maine are small businesses, of which only 1.1% are Hispanic-owned and 2.6% are owned by members of other racial minority groups.  These statistics point to a need for a business accelerator program like EforAll that will help support Maine-based BIPOC entrepreneurs and increase the diversity in the local business landscape.
