Longmont nonprofit to add Spanish language business program

Longmont Entrepreneurship for All, a nonprofit organization that provides resources and education to small business owners, is expanding its services for Spanish-speakers.

The effort is called EparaTodos, which translates to EforAll in English. EforAll is a twice-a-year accelerator program and pitch contest, and it will be replicated with Spanish-speaking mentors. Its first Spanish-language pitch contest is slated for Oct. 22, and applications are open until Oct. 9. The accelerator is accepting applications until Nov. 9 and will begin in early 2021.

“We want to make sure that we’re looking at entrepreneurship through an equity lens,”  said Harris Rollinger, executive director for EforAll Longmont. “And one of the ways to ensure that we’re reaching our goals, and that we’re providing equal opportunity and advancing equity, is to make sure that we’re knocking down language barriers.”

The Massachusetts-based organization’s mission is to invest in entrepreneurs in underserved and overlooked communities, he said. It has eight chapters, or communities, including Longmont.
