Juweria Dahir on “New Builders” and Igniting Buffalo’s Diverse Entrepreneurial Future

Born in Somalia amid a civil war, Juweria Dahir resided in Switzerland and then the UK before relocating to the United States. She and her husband moved to his hometown of Buffalo, New York, in 2013.

Committed to her spiritual journey, Juweria raised a young family while completing a master’s degree from the School of Architecture and Planning at the University at Buffalo. Since that time she has built a career addressing economic, gender, and racial inequalities tied to the area’s communities, businesses, and the built environment.

Today she is the Executive Director at the Buffalo-based EforAll, an organization charged with fostering a local entrepreneurial ecosystem that engages the community in a grassroots way. She mentors, advises, and coaches entrepreneurs and small businesses, supporting their efforts at launching, building, and growing a successful company.
