Arturo Hoyte’s passion for cooking has been a lifelong journey. After spending 20 years in professional kitchens, he found a new purpose starting his own business, Johnnie Mae’s Chicken & Waffles, in honor of his late mother. What began as a simple home kitchen project evolved into pop-up events, catering gigs, and festivals.
He applied for the EforAll Business Accelerator, hoping to connect with other entrepreneurs for encouragement and support, but he gained far more than he expected. The program helped him streamline his business and refine key aspects, from pricing and customer segmentation to simplifying his menu. “The camaraderie was my favorite part. We built a real family, and that network of support has been invaluable,” Arturo reflected.
The results have been impressive—his events have nearly doubled, and he plans to expand by getting a food truck. “Even if you’re just considering starting a business, I’d recommend EforAll. The free information and support you get is mind-blowing,” he emphasized.
