Godfrey Chua is a technology industry analyst and marketing professional with more than 30 years of experience. Godfrey has been an EforAll mentor for over five years, bringing his knowledge and experience to local entrepreneurs.
What made you want to become a mentor?
EforAll’s mission of grassroots support of local, individual entrepreneurs resonated. A refreshing change from what I have seen in the tech industry where “incubators” abound. EforAll’s focus on local and making the community a better place in general offered great appeal.
Is there a specific mentoring experience that you are most proud of?
Seeing mentees be able to shift their passions into a full-time career and build their brand. For example, ALR Design is now a household name in the Cape for her beautiful cards and crafts!
What is your favorite part of being an EforAll mentor?
Getting to know the mentees and mentors! And certainly learning more about the Cape in general.
What do you think makes EforAll special?
Emphasis on the local community and being involved.
What advice would you have for entrepreneurs?
Be flexible and know when to pivot as needed. Hard work, commitment and fiscal/business discipline are table stakes for any business to make it.
