EparaTodos Virtual Mentor/Volunteer Experience Manager

Position Type: Remote; Full-Time

Reports to: Director, Virtual Projects

Schedule: Regular work hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm with some evenings. This position will be working remotely in three different time zones – Pacific/Mountain/Central.

Compensation$58,000 – $63,250 annually, salary commensurate with experience. 

Job Summary:

The EparaTodos Virtual Mentor/Volunteer Experience Manager is a remote position responsible for managing the Mentor and Volunteer experience for our Virtual Business Accelerator Test conducted in Texas, Arizona, and California. The successful candidate will be responsible for recruiting and managing a diverse pool of Spanish-speaking Mentors and volunteers from a range of industries and diverse backgrounds to provide guidance, mentorship, and support to Entrepreneurs. The position is also in charge of coordinating DEI training for Mentors in the program. They will work closely with the Virtual Program Director, the Virtual Program Experience Manager, the Virtual Enrollment Experience Manager, and the Marketing and Tech Teams. The ideal candidate for the position is culturally competent and understands the needs and characteristics of Hispanics in those three States.

Responsibilities 

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive mentor and volunteer recruitment strategy for the program
    • Generate at least 45 leads within the four States 
  • Screen and select mentors and volunteers, matching them with program participants
    • Recruit 30 Mentors who will guide the Entrepreneurs participating in the program
    • Recruit Volunteers (readers, interviewers, judges, and specialists) who will support the delivery of the program 
  • Manage the Mentor and Volunteer onboarding process, including orientation
  • Act as a liaison between Mentors/Volunteers, and Virtual Program Experience Manager to ensure clear communication, timely feedback, and successful outcomes 
  • Coordinate and facilitate Mentor Matching with the Entrepreneur Enrollment Experience Manager
  • Provide orientation and support to Volunteers participating in the program
  • Coordinate DEI Training for Mentors
    • Track attendance
    • Conduct training feedback survey
    • Manage the Mentor Handbook sign-off process 
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality and effectiveness of the Mentor and Volunteer program, and make recommendations for improvement 
  • Conduct weekly feedback surveys to ensure a positive and meaningful experience for Mentors 
  • Support and development of Mentors during the test
    • Plan, organize, and execute four networking activities during the program
    • Provide office hours to Mentors and Volunteers for support 
  • Support team meetings (Entrepreneur-Mentors) by acting as a Coach for teams in the program

Characteristics & Qualifications: 

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish 
  • Experience in online recruitment of volunteers from diverse backgrounds, marketing, and sales techniques 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in managing mentor or volunteer programs
  • Comfortable with delivering presentations and coordinating virtual events
  • Able to gather data and create reports 
  • Problem-solving skills 
  • Excellent time management skills 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
  • Exceptionally organized, detail-oriented, and methodical 
  • Ability to work flexibly in a growing organization, and teamwork environment
  • Strong knowledge of Google Suites, video conferencing, and comfortable learning new software 
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred 
  • Ability to work remotely
  • Knowledge of the startup ecosystem and experience working with early-stage startups is a plus
