Ethan de Aguiar has always had a passion for filmmaking. After working in the corporate/commercial video arena for years, he decided it was time to strike out on his own and build a business. He founded 8 Arm Creative to help clients tell compelling cinematic stories.

In 2022, Ethan applied for the Business Accelerator,  after hearing about it from a friend who had gone through the program. “I just wanted more knowledge and reassurance that I was doing things right,” he shared.

Throughout the program, Ethan found the network he built to be one of the most valuable aspects of his experience. “The connections I made with the cohort, staff, and mentors led me to places I never thought I could go,” he said. The mentors provided key insights, giving him new knowledge and reinforcing what he already knew, which gave him confidence that he was on the right path.

8 Arm Creative continues to grow, and with six-figure revenue, Ethan is focused on expanding his business and team. He is currently working on the second edition of the New Bedford Film Festival, which he founded in 2024. “Even things I thought I understood were presented in a way that made me re-examine my business and improve,” he reflected. With the solid foundation and support he received through EforAll, Ethan is excited about the future of his company and is confident in its direction.
