Building a Playspace Business More Than Just Fun and Games
When Nicole Bessette returned to Cape Cod from the West Coast, she missed the indoor playspaces that she and her family had enjoyed so much. Her dream was simple: “I wanted to be able to be home with my kids, homeschool them, and wanted to create classes, special events, birthday parties, and activities for families year-round on the Cape. “ The only challenge was figuring out how to get this self proclaimed “crazy idea” out of her head and into reality.
When she heard about the EforAll Accelerator program designed to help Cape entrepreneurs like her, she jumped at the opportunity to apply. With that, Cape Cod Bear Factory was born. Shortly after completing the program, Nicole signed a lease for a retail space in the Cape Cod Mall and was already profitable within three weeks of opening.
Nicole credits EforAll with helping her gain valuable Cape connections that have already helped her business. She says “ I’m able to partner with businesses from the last two EforAll cohorts and I have a community I never would have had before.”
