During her maternity leave, Naisbel Azarak developed a passion for cake-making. What started as a personal project for her son’s first birthday soon transformed into a booming business as friends and family began to request custom cakes. Eager to perfect her skills, she pursued formal training and gained valuable experience at several top hotels and restaurants in Boston. In 2023, Naisbel partnered with her long-time friend, experienced pastry chef and Culinary Institute of America graduate, Haylee Kulig, to launch NaisLee Catering.
Joining EforAll was a game-changer for this duo. “We were great at cooking, but we had no idea what we were doing when it came to running a business,” Naisbel says. Through the EforAll Business Accelerator, they gained the guidance and support they needed to structure their company, refine their operations, and build a strong foundation for growth. More than just business lessons, EforAll provided a sense of belonging. “It’s not just a program—it’s a family. Whenever we’ve hit a roadblock, someone from EforAll has been there to help us push through”, said Haylee.
Since graduating, NaisLee Catering has gained more clients and seen an increase in orders. Naisbel and Haylee’s company now features a catering division for social and corporate events, a product development sector that assists other businesses in creating unique menu items, and a beloved coffee shop, Lavender Cafe, in West Newton, MA, which fosters a strong sense of community. “EforAll was the best thing that happened to us!” said Naisbel.
