In 2014, Michael Bertrand applied for the EforAll accelerator to expand his part-time snow-plowing business while still in college. Since then, his business has undergone several iterations, as Michael kept challenging himself to create the most successful model. Today, Edible Land Design (ELD) offers excavation, land clearing, snow plowing, and livestock farming services that Michael, his wife, and a small team of employees manage on their 36-acre property.
Michael credits the EforAll Business Accelerator for providing him with the tools, support, and network to help him continue to grow and evolve his business. Michael recalls that it pushed him out of his comfort zone, enabling him to gain insights into how to scale his business and create a good work environment. “It was priceless to hear from the experienced specialists and mentors. I’ve learned a lot from them”, said Michael.
Fast forward ten years, Michael has just upgraded ELD’s equipment and trucks and is set to open a farm store later this year. The company is thriving and on track to reach an incredible $1 million in gross sales in 2024. Michael is thrilled, saying, “The program taught me to work smarter, not just harder!”
